Intro to Identity and Access Management (IAM)
S3 buckets and objects utilize a hierarchical structure of permissions and access control. This is known as Identity and Access Management and is common across multiple cloud services. With XNS, you have the ability to set basic permissions on a per bucket or object basis easily. Once you have mastered the basics, it is possible to set up access for applications, users and locations.
XNS currently supports three policy types; Identity, Resource and ACLs. Setup individual Users and Groups, then apply Policies to them in order to grant, deny or revoke access privileges. Policies are stored in JSON format and created on the fly either with the intuitive interface or with a raw editor.
